Kimono

Putting on the kimono was quite an experience.  To do my hair, face, and the garment took about 2.5 hours.  They made sure I had gone to the bathroom before they started, because it is very difficult to go to the bathroom once you are “strapped in”!  The lady who did my hair had never done blond hair before.  She put some extra hair (that wasn’t mine) in to make a big French twist (I guess that is what you would call it!).

The kimono process started with them applying a lot of padding to my torso and then taking a box of what looked like cloth wrist restraints and tying them around me tightly.  The little ladies who were working on me would look up at me and smile, but then they would tug the “restraints” tighter.  I imagine it is something like wearing a corset!

With all the layers and padding, it was quite hot!

It was an experience I am glad I did, but not one I would want to do every day!
