Shabu-Shabu

This meal was eaten in a private room with tatami (rice straw floors) and was served by waitresses wearing kimonos.  The large pots in the center of the table have boiling water to cook very thin slices of beef. This beef is then dipped in various types of sauces—delicious!  We also got our first taste of sashimi—raw fish!  We were very tired after being up for almost 24 hours straight, but were excited to share this experience with Akihiro’s family!
