Newcomers to Shioda, House progress, Guests, etc.
Sorry for unanswered emails, and a belated blog entry, but we've been busy--a good busy, though!
About two weeks ago the Kinsinger family arrived from Korea and we have been helping them get settled into the house near the Shioda church. We have enjoyed getting to know them better and have had fun sharing life experiences in Japan with them. Last Saturday Akihiro had a dinner meeting to go to and so I invited myself to their house for supper. I got treated to a delicious Korean meal and a fun night of Dutch Blitz and Fast Scrabble--it has been ages and I was quite rusty!
We also had Shayne and Emily Fehr visiting Japan on their way to Indonesia. We enjoyed our time with them! We took the whole crew plus Kimberly Leman (the Klaus's helper for the summer) to Shosenkyo--a beautiful gorge and did some hiking there. I was glad for the ropeway car that took us part way up the mountain as Baby-kun and I are getting a bit heavier these days!
